Warfield, also know as the Jewel of the Kootenays, is located between Trail and Rossland. With approximately 1,700 residents the village of Warfield is small and charming. There are 3 distinct areas of Warfield; Upper Warfield, Lower Warfield and Annable.
The term “Mickey Mouse Town” is used to describe the homes that are located in upper Warfield. The homes here are brightly colored, have high peaked roofs, and small doors and windows. They resemble the houses shown in Mickey Mouse cartoons. The Warfield Community Hall is located in the business district and features a outdoor park with BBQ area and picnic tables.
Webster Elementary School is located in lower Warfield and offers classes to children Kindergarten through grade 7. The Warfield Centennial Pool, is an amazing outdoor swimming pool with waterslide and water park. Haley Park/Field is located next to the elementary school and is one of the best track and field facilities in the Kootenays. There are also 3 baseball diamonds and a soccer field here. Other business located in Warfield include Petro Canada gas station, a BC Liquor Store, Zee Crepes Restaurant, and the Green Pineapple.
